30 Bible Verses On Money Management
They say that, “money doesn’t grow on trees.” But wouldn’t we love if it did?
There has likely never been a time where the world didn’t want money and want it quick, fast, and in a hurry.
The age of internet wealth, “easy” side hustles, and money that seems to come slower than it goes, leaves many of us wondering how we too can get in on a piece of the pie.
But who needs more money? Said no one. Ever. The reality is that (in many cases) we don’t necessarily need more money but what we need more of is better money management.
Stewarding our finances involves wisdom so I went to the best source and did a search for Bible verses on money management.
What Does the Bible Say About Money Management?
There are great resources that can aid us in better management of our finances. But there is one that is excellent in giving us wisdom while using these resources.
That’s right, the B-I-B-L-E. Just like every other matter in life, we can find guidance in the Bible on how to manage our finances. That is, managing money God’s way.
God is the creator of this world and everything we have comes from, through, and to him.
Bible Verses On Money Management
Not only are there numerous scriptures on how to manage money, but they teach us at least ten biblical principles that coincide with God’s will and way.
God is Our Source
First and foremost we should remind ourselves that God is our source for everything. For without him we would have nothing. Therefore, we should do our best to seek him over what is tangible.

will have his fill of poverty. ~ Proverbs 28:19
Budget Wisely
A budget is often fluid and changes with the seasons of life. Take the time to understand your budget, review, and modify it regularly.
A house is built by wisdom, and it is established by understanding; ~ Proverbs 24:3

Give Generously
When I budget, I first set aside what belongs to God. It can be tempting to keep it but I’ve seen God do exceedingly abundantly with what is left over.
So go on, don’t be stingy give God back some of what he has given to you. And don’t hesitate to give to others too if it is within your means.

As with all matters in life, there are subject matter experts in every field. While the Bible is the foundation for all matters, we should seek out wise counsel to give us more specific guidance.

Listen to counsel and receive instruction so that you may be wise later in life.~ Proverbs 19:20
Resources for Biblical Money Management
I mentioned the need for both resources and experts. I claim to be neither as it pertains financial management or education.
But I highly recommend two books that have been on the New York Times best seller list. Both written by financial expert David Bach.
The Automatic Millionaire is has sold over a million copies.
My brother read it and believed it to be so informative and powerful that it encouraged him to gift me Smart Women Finish Rich. This is also a #1 New York Times best seller and has rave reviews.
I own Smart Women Finish Rich in both paperback as well as the audible version of the most recent 20th anniversary edition update.
Now listen, I know there is a ton of information on the internet that you can get for free. But what I love about this book is that David Bach gathers everything and bundles it up for you in one place.
While this is not a Bible based book, his expertise indirectly touches on every scripture I mention above.
He includes step by step actions that aid in stewarding money that will align with the biblical way.
Things like investing, saving, paying debt, social security information, mortgage and homeownership education, retirement, inheritance, etc.
I refer back to Smart Women Finish Rich often, as being a good steward of my finances is a never ending process.
